Gesu Sunday Offering: Commitment Weekend

AMDG

October 2020

Dear Gesu Community,

I think you would agree that the coronavirus pandemic has affected us in ways we could never have imagined, not the least of which has been the change from how we typically engage in our life of faith. While we have had to find different ways to stay close to Christ and to one another, one thing has not changed and never will: Christ is always with us. He never abandons us.

At this time of year, I write to all parishioners and wish to extend my gratitude for your support of our parish this past year. Even during this unusual and challenging time, your generosity enabled Gesu to continue its mission of being a Catholic community in the Jesuit tradition, committed to Eucharistic Living, Lifelong Learning and Generous Serving and “all for the greater glory of God.” Our staff along with you, our faithful parishioners, strive to practice this mission daily and have been blessed to do so. Even though your participation may have been different this year, you remained interested in our outreach opportunities, faith formation programs, community life events and worship celebrations. All of these items continue to make Gesu a strong and vibrant parish.

As I reflect on the past year, I also look forward to our future. The Gesu Sunday Offering program allows us to plan and budget accordingly for the next fiscal year. Your support allows us to serve you and fulfill our mission to help people to know, love, serve and follow Jesu Christ. Our commitment to you is to be transparent about our finances so that you can trust that we are good and faithful stewards of your generosity. You should know that for us, your GSO pledge and donations are a very important way you can ensure the strength of Gesu Church and School.

With all of this in mind, I invite you to join our parish community by responding to our Gesu Sunday Offering. A special Commitment Weekend will be held on October 24 & 25 to allow parish family members the opportunity to make a prayerful sacrifice. I ask that you please review the information below and prayerfully consider how you and your family can help Gesu Church and School by financially supporting our ministries, furthering our mission and reinforcing our future.

Without your generosity, it would be impossible for us to fulfill our mission. In this time of pandemic, we need your help more than ever. Thank you for your generosity, prayers and commitment to Gesu!

God Bless,

Fr. Karl Kiser, SJ
Pastor
