Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) is a Montessori-based approach for the religious formation of children that is rooted in the Bible and liturgy. The children and adult catechists meet weekly in the specially prepared room called the atrium, located in the sacristy hallway of the church. In the atrium, the children work with beautiful materials that aid in meditation and absorption of the themes presented. Working with the hands on material becomes their prayer, nurtures their relationship with God, and brings the Mass to life.
We are excited to offer three sessions for the 2024-2025 school year for children 3 years old – Kindergarten! We will have a gradual entry and staggered start over several weeks for easier adjustment to the atrium. Space is limited to 12 children per session. Register now at bit.ly/CGSRegistration2024. Please contact Keri Cupp for more information: kcupp@churchofthegesu.org.
