Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) is a Montessori-based approach to the religious formation of children that is rooted in the Bible and liturgy. The children and adult catechists meet weekly in a specially prepared room called the atrium where the child works with hands-on material at his/her own pace. This work becomes their prayer, nurtures their relationship with God, and brings the Mass to life.
Level I: Ages 3 through Kindergarten (toilet trained & bathroom independent)
Level II: Ages 6-9 or grades 1-3. New themes are presented which focus on the History of the Kingdom of God, the moral parables and Holy Eucharist; emphasis on sacramental preparation.
CGS fulfills the parish and diocesan requirements for religious education.
