Director of Finance
The Director of Finance oversees the finances of the parish and school. He/she is responsible for maintaining accurate financial and accounting records within the accounting system, managing all accounts payable and receivable, payroll and billing for the parish and school.  This person assists with human resources and provides support for parish events as requested. He/she reports directly to the Pastor and works in tandem with the Chief Operating Officer and a contracted accounting firm. 

In addition, primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare, monitor and review the annual budget with the assistance of the accounting firm. Maintain and monitor financial controls for the entire parish.
  • Work with the accounting firm to assist in investment information, closing of the books and Diocesan reports.
  • Work with COO to coordinate the financing of capital projects and major events.
  • Work with the School’s Principal, Director of Operations and Director of Admission & Tuition to develop proper communications with families regarding financial issues. Assist with accurately invoicing school tuition and fees to families, including application of financial aid/scholarships and appropriate fees. Post payments received via Digital Academy to QuickBooks.
  • Monitor the recording, collection, counting and deposits of parish revenue.
  • Work with the Pastor and the scholarship committee to administer all tuition scholarships.
  • Manage the financial end of the after-school program. 
  • Work with the Director of Development on fundraising endeavors, including Gesu Sunday Offering, Capital Campaign and School’s Annual Giving Program.

Director of Development & Communications
The person in this position will create an atmosphere that promotes meaningful involvement on the part of parishioners and school parents in Gesu’s mission and vision for the future through fundraising. She/he will nurture relationships with Gesu’s current network of funding sources, and implement development strategies to expand on that network in order to ensure the long-term viability of the parish and school. This position includes the planning and implementation of campaigns for the annual Gesu Sunday Offering, School’s Annual Giving Program, Scholarship Funds, Endowment Funds, the Fund for Gesu, and Planned Giving, in addition to oversight of all parish publications and social media.

Gesu parish and school are currently in the quiet phase of a capital and endowment campaign titled The Gesu Century. The Development Director will play a vital role in this important fundraising campaign.

Athletic Director
The Athletic Director oversees all athletic programs at Gesu Parish. The ideal candidate will promote physical fitness, sportsmanship and teamwork among our athletes in a program that is student-focused, with an emphasis on teaching and developing individual talents. He/she will coordinate all aspects of the athletic program, including but not limited to registration, recruitment of coaches, procurement of practice fields, scheduling, facility use, staffing, equipment and uniform inventory maintenance, distribution and collection. The person in this position works with the Athletics Booster Board to develop and work within an annual operating budget.

The AD will promote and uphold Catholic values and foster a supportive environment for all participants. He/she reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer and works closely with parish and school administration, the Athletic Advisory Committee, the Athletics Booster Board and Diocese of Cleveland CYO Office. This is a non-exempt position.
