Mission Statement

"The Parish is not an outdated institution; precisely because it possesses great flexibility it can assume quite different contours depending on the openness and missionary creativity of the pastor and community. While certainly not the only institution which evangelizes, if it proves capable of self-renewal and constant adaptivity, it continues to be the Church living in the midst of homes of her sons and daughters." (Evangelii Gaudium; Pope Francis, Apostolic Exhortation)

Dear Gesu Community,

As you enter the Church of the Gesu from the narthex and gaze upward at the etched window, or view the cover of the weekly bulletin, or read through this website, you will notice these words: Gesu Parish, a Catholic community, in the Jesuit tradition, is committed to: Eucharistic living, Lifelong learning, Generous serving “all for the greater glory of God.” We invite everyone to reflect on what this Mission Statement might mean for you and to explore its significance in our activities, liturgies and programs.

Let us consider the value of every way in which we bring this Mission Statement to life here at Gesu. As we journey together in making this our lived reality woven into every aspect of for all ages, we will truly be exploring what it means to be a parish in the Jesuit tradition.

Sincerely yours in Christ,
The Parish Staff
