Boy Scouts Place First in Klondike Derby

Gesu Boy Scout Troop 620 placed first in Lake Erie Council Klondike Derby on January 25! The Troop 620 patrol placed first out of 48 patrols containing over 400 scouts from all over Northeast Ohio. The scouts competed in a series of events that tested their scouting skills in the days' cold, wet weather at the Beaumont Scout Reservation in Ashtabula County. The events required the patrols to work as a team, testing their first aid, fire building, compass, cooking and outdoor survival skills. All of the scouts had been practicing for several weeks on these events and their hard work has paid off. A special congratulations to our Scoutmaster Brett Young and all the adult leaders who have also put in many hours coaching our scouts in preparation for this event.
