May 23, 2021 - Feast of Pentecost
Pentecost: Jesus sends us The Spirit so we can live out the truths he taught. How do we perceive and receive the Spirit of God? Do we open the door of our hearts to let the Holy Spirit come in and make a dwelling place? As we often do before an Ignatian Examen, we breathe in the Spirit of God’s presence and let out the cares and distractions of our day. We hear in the Gospel that the ‘Advocate’ will come. By definition, an Advocate is a supporter, promoter, sponsor - what a wonderful promise! As Ignatius surely did, we can trust in the same ‘Spirit of truth’ that will guide each of us. Do we have an awareness of the Holy Spirit working in our lives? Do we allow the Spirit of God to fill our longing hearts wo that our everyday actions reflect the truths of our faith?
