GESU PARISH
BUILDING PROGRAM  - SCHEME I


The data gathered from meetings and analysis of conditions has contributed to an understanding of current and anticipated needs. This Scheme is the minimal approach for the Parish Center, identifying the least amount of work anticipated to achieve functioning facility. The division of space shall remain except as indicated. In addition the Church will receive modifications. The following is the Building Program that has evolved for Scheme I.

Facilities for a Parish Center:

Add handicapped ramp on exterior

New entry to building

Current dining room to become general office area

Enhance the reception function, provide for security

Provide new handicapped toilet

Existing kitchen to become break room

Provide for resource/library space

Demo some bathrooms on second floor

Provide sprinkler system in basement

New electrical power system

New lighting & emergency lighting systems

New exit signage & fire alarm

New heating, ventilating & air conditioning systems

New data/communication systems

Patch and repair existing surfaces

Provide new interior finishes

Enhance acoustics

Re-roof flat roofs

Secure storage – fire and waterproof

General storage

Modifications to the Church

Provide new-handicapped accessible elevator connecting McAuley Hall to all floor levels.

Provide new entry at the piazza.

Provide ramp from the main Church floor to the Sanctuary level.

Provide new full immersion baptismal font incorporating the existing font Location to be determined.

Freshen finishes in the Church; new paint, clean stone, renew wood.

This scheme is for the entire renovation of the existing Parish Center. Space allocation, mechanical, electrical and structural systems will be all new. The following is the Building Program under considerations for Scheme II.

1 office for pastoral ministry – first/second floor

Meeting/multi-purpose room, 30 to 40 people – first floor

Kitchenette/staff break room – first floor

Room for office equipment – first floor

Office for RCIA coordinator (preferred in the Reg. Ed Ctr.)
