  Liturgy Commission  
     
 

The role of the Liturgy Commission is to plan Sunday and Holy Day Liturgies and prayer services, coordinate all liturgical ministries and recommend policies and procedures that foster a strong liturgical life in the parish.  Meetings are held on the second Monday of each month in the Educational Center.

Altar Servers
Altar Servers are boys and girls in the seventh and eighth grade who assist at the Church Masses, weddings and funerals.  If you have a son or daughter interested in becoming a Server, contact:

Children’s Liturgy
Two weekends per month, Gesu offers a Children’s Liturgy to give the youngest members of the parish an opportunity to listen to the Liturgy of the Word at their age level.  Children’s Liturgy is offered at the 4:30pm Mass on Saturday and the 9:00am Mass on Sunday in McAuley Hall (please refer to the Bulletin calendar for exact dates). Code Pink Rosary
Members of the breast cancer support group here at Gesu will host a monthly Rosary in the Marian Chapel on the first Tuesday of the month at 8:00pm.  The Rosary is said in celebration/honor/memory of all those affected by breast cancer.  All are welcome.  For additional information, contact:

Eucharistic Ministers
Eucharistic Ministers distribute Communion to the worshipping community at the Church Masses.  Some training is required.  If you are interested in learning more, contact:

Eucharistic Visitors
Eucharistic Visitors take Communion to the homebound and sick of the parish.  Some training is required.  For more information, contact:

Lectors
During the Mass, the Lector proclaims the Word of God and reads the General Intercessions.  This ministry requires some familiarity with the Scripture, as well as skill in oral proclamation.  For more information, contact:

Liturgical Art & Environmental Committee
Members of this committee provide an artistic expression of liturgical events during the Church year, including Advent, Christmas, Lent and Easter.  If you are interested in serving on this committee, contact:

Music Ministry
Opportunities to serve in the Music Ministry include the Gallery Choir, the Chamber Choir, the Handball Choir, the Chant Choir, and the Cantor Ministry.  Instrumentalists are also needed.  Membership is open to anyone high school age or older.  If you are interested, contact:

Sunday Nursery
Baby-sitting is available during the 10:30am Sunday Mass in the TOPS Room in the lower level of Gesu School.  If you are interested in this baby-sitting service, contact:
